Happy Carnival Day

After toiling at the school carnival from 1:30-10:00 I should have a better picture than this. Not that it's not a good picture of the boys playing NFL Monopoly tonight. But there were about 100 good photo opp's at the big school carnival. Alas I was working so hard I didn't even have time to take a few clicks. I directed the Silent Auction portion of the carnival which raised $1853. We auctioned all sorts of great baskets and fun services.

Just to let you know this game rocks~ it has the cutest little stadiums that you purchase instead of hotels, and you roll little footballs. The only thing more fun is NHL monopoly.

This was my donation to the school carnival. I finished the last three rows of blue last night.

Ta Da Thursday

This morning I baked cakes and cupcakes for the school carnival's cake walk. Then the kids helped decorate them when they got home. Sammy decorated hers with the school's colors- yellow, blue and red.

I hung out with my nieces this afternoon. Lauren was perfecting her make up artist skills. Don't I look stunning. The brown eye shadow on the cheeks was quite a nice touch don't ya say. I wash. The memories that we made together ~ they will hang around for a while!
But while we were busy in the living room. Erin was being very quiet. When we discovered her she'd painted her toes and her fingers and a bit of the bathroom floor. She'd also doused herself with Mama's perfumes. She informed me in her most dramatic two year old self that "Mommie gets really mad at me when I do this." Maybe it wasn't quite such a good idea then honey.

New Projects

I have all sorts of new projects. This morning I helped sort snacks that the school will pass out during MAP testing. The school carnival is on Friday, and I've been busy putting together the silent auction. Making calls, following up with my committee members, picking up donations. Today I purchased this foam board which will soon be the numbers used in the cake walk.

This afternoon I made this yummy peach pie~ from scratch no less. My pie making skills are really improving. Now i just need to work on the light and flakey part.

And then when the kiddos landed home from school we made a yarn craft using lots of glue. When it dries we should have an egg shaped bowl looking thing.

New Winds

Warm winds are blowing. And Myers were out and about. We loaded the pack into the van and found a trail we thought had a good chance of not being too soggy. We aired out our bodies and our souls. Notice all the white legs!

This was the view from the rear.

New Wheels

My Mom & Dad enjoying the spoils of retirement- check out their brand new truck! Perfect to pull the RV that they purchased last summer. Which will be perfect to camp with this summer. Did I mention how much we love to go camping with Grandma and Grandpa!

Thursday

Pure bliss. This was my bud Sammy's first taste of home made Rice Krispie treats.

Wednesday

This was a very bad idea. It sounded like a good idea at the time~ taking the dogs and the kiddos to the dog park. But it must have taken me an hour to clean up all that mud.
