Our neighborhood got an early start to the celebration. We did the 4th on the 3rd. And we'll do it again tonight. Jet lives across the street. He's a rookie at the sparklers. As is his younger brother Oliver.
This morning the Myers clan ventured back to their roots. The annual fourth of July parade in my mom's home association. I promise not to wax on about how times they are a changin'. But there were 5 kids in the parade. 4 of those in strollers with narry a piece of crete paper to be found. When we were kids...... well this was a big big deal. Elevated the fourth into major holiday category. We spent an entire night decorating bikes. Everyone in the neighborhood did. There would be about 100 kids parading down the street. Even when Jack rode in the parade there was a good crew of 50.
