Sheep Shearing

Today was sheep shearing day at Missouri Town. I love this place. It's a pioneer village from the 1850's and is one of the most peaceful, pretty places I know. Erin had a vantage view for the big hair cuts.

There was blue grass music and pioneer dancing among an entire village of folks dressed up like pioneers.
Erin's checking out the wooly ones.

And Lauren took this picture of the sheep that had already had been sheared. After their hair cuts they were really bleating. Erin said they were saying "thank you."

The village served it's costumed residents stew and cornbread and molassis ginger bread cookies for dessert. It made us so hungry we headed to the town dinner afterward for turkey and potatoes followed by peach crisp.
