A Hail of a Day

Spring storms are in the air. We had about 2 inches of pea size hail this afternoon in one power sweep. What do 1 and 1/2 year old goofy puppies do when the house sounds like it's being attacked. Well this.......

They climb atop the love seat.

And the hail came.

Here's some of the accumulation- looked like snow.

John ran out to check out the sky.

Cool. Very cool. He took this shot from the park where we play baseball.

A Walk in the Park

I've been happily married to this man for 19 years and 1 day. Yesterday was our anniversary.

This morning we took the pups to the park.

Tuesday

The teams are picked and we are ready to go. The Myers house is playing fantasty playoff hockey. Renie's Rowdies, the Timber Wolves, Ramparts and the Rebels will face off this spring for bragging rights. Jack's friend Nick is once again joining us. Not to brag or anything but one year one of us finished in the top 100 of the 100,000 or so people who play this computerized game. AND IT WAS ME!

the game

I dragged three tired little butts to church this morning. Jackson and his friend Daniel spent the night with their bud Joseph last night. And poor Erin still hadn't quite recovered from her sugar-high birthday party yesterday. (Lauren just plain slept in) But a good time was had by all. The boys class broke into groups and acted out how they would respond to various real life situations. (the boys group had to figure out how a Christian should act when they broke a window playing baseball ). Erin's class decorated heart shaped cookies with frosting and sprinkles and then brought them over to the 3-4 year old class, before returning to make themselves a cookie. (they were sharing God's love) And I listened to a sermon from the "Change" Sermon series, and a soloist that I would have dragged myself out of bed at 4 in the morning to hear.

When we got home I caught the boys all splayed out on the coach as I was making a big Sunday breakfast. Bacon, eggs, and biscuits with the home made strawberry jelly I made last week.

This letter came in the mail yesterday. Wow. Two years away from being at the High School. This football stuff is serious stuff. They groom these boys early. The High School coach was at every one of Jack's football games this fall ~ watching his grandson but sure he was thinking a bit to the future eh.

Today is also the very last Blues game of the season. This was the first year in 7 that I didn't attend a game in person. But they were on the road much of March, and we had ice and snow like every weekend for three months straight, and well um they weren't very good this year. Truth hurts. I love my Blue note jersey. Even more than

this one. . . .

And my Sharks jersey. Unless of course they advance into the semi final round. Then it may be my favorite for the month.

Or if Boston wins of course then they'll be my favorite. In hockey they have rent-a-players. Players who join a team just before the trade deadline to boister a playoff run. Well as of this afternoon the Myers are rent-a-fans for the playoffs. We're up for grabs. ok. All but John. He'll always pick the Bruins. The Myers boys thought this was a very funny weird thing for Mom to do on a lazy old Sunday afternoon. Always glad to provide the entertainment.

Three

Happy Third Birthday Erin! What a great party! The crayola theme was creative and wonderful. Deb does parties right. Erin beat on the "3" pinyata.

And we sang. And she was happy.... Turning three is fun.

We had a whole housefull of friends and family. Here I am with my cousin Angie on the left and my sis on the right.

Here's Grandma Vernie. One of the best parts of my parents divorce is Grandma Vernie. She came along when my Mom remarried a few years later. And she opened her heart to two college age girls right away. They married in November and that Christmas she sent along presents for us. She kept our mail boxes full in college and in those long years when we lived away- I lived in Boston for three loooonnnnggg years and Deb lived in Pittsburgh long enough to put her scum bag ex-husband through his master's degree. (ok he wasn't a scum bag then ).

Anyway it was a good day in the Myers house.

An Adventure

My favorite two year old niece is turning three this Saturday. We're having a big crayola themed party so today all of us gals went to the Crayola store at Crown Center to purchase goodies for the party.

We ate at the train restaurant that delivers your burgers and fries via a real train that runs along the ceiling. Erin and I are checking out the trains. Hey notice the matching lipstick- don't we look fetching.

Crown Center has a fun exhibit for kids about different kinds of careers. Erin is practicing her guitar to be a superstar.
And my favorite five year old niece Lauren has her sites set on being the president. She's just who you want to answer the red phone at 3:00 in the morning. Just give her about 50 years. My favorite twenty-four-year old niece Bethany lives in Virginia and is a substitute teacher. We love all of our gals.

Deb and Erin are visiting Lauren's restaurant. She's gonna make a great chef like her Uncle Johnny.

April's Fool

We are in the season that's full of right-of-passage activities. This is the last quarter of the sixth grade. Today the sixth graders vs. the teachers in volleyball after school. I snuck up, with my two side kicks in tow, to get a picture. That's Jackson on the right in the beige shirt and with the hair.
